BC Seniors' Games (55+ BC Games) 2018 - Reimbursement for Registration Fees

Cameron Seniors Society will reimburse the 55+ Games Registration Fee to eligible participants. To be eligible, you must be a member of Cameron Seniors Society continuously for 1 year leading up to and through the dates of the Games. You will need to submit an application form for reimbursement. More information is given below or you may see Sue McIntyre or Linda Moore at Cameron Centre.

To Cameron Seniors Society Members Participating in BC Seniors' Games 2018:

Reimbursement of registration fees is available to qualified members of the Cameron Seniors’ Society who attend the 2018 BC Seniors’ Games in Kimberley-Cranbrook.  In order to receive a reimbursement cheque, each member must present his or her Games identification tag along with a completed application form, at Cameron’s community office. We’ll copy the tag and give it back.

Deadline for applications for reimbursement is Monday, October 15, 2018.

Reimbursements will be granted to only those participants

• Who have been a member of Cameron Seniors’ Society for 1 continuous year prior to the Games AND
• Whose Cameron Seniors’ membership was valid during the dates of the Games

Members of Bonsor, Confederation and Edmonds Centres should apply at those locations. Members who have Multi-Centre memberships should apply at their “home” location. At Cameron, we will reimburse members with Cameron Multi-Centre memberships.

*We ask that athletes not claim a reimbursement at Cameron if they are also being reimbursed by another centre, like Dogwood or Glen Pine.

Cameron Seniors Society will reimburse Games Participants up to $50 each – the cost of Games Registration. The Society will not reimburse the $20 Seniors Games Society Membership nor the Sport Fee paid by each participant.

Reimbursement cheques will be distributed in November 2018. A total of $3,000 has been allocated for reimbursement to Cameron Seniors’ Society members. Should requests exceed this allocation, reduced amounts will be reimbursed, with the reimbursement distributed evenly among all applicants.

Message for Activity Group Leaders and Members about Seniors Games Reimbursement From the Board of Directors, Cameron Seniors’ Society:

Please note that this reimbursement of Seniors Games Registration fees is optional. Games participants may choose not to apply for a reimbursement. This will leave the funds with the Seniors Society, to benefit seniors’ programs and services.

Participants may also accept reimbursement, then donate the money back to the Cameron Seniors’ Society. The Society will issue an official receipt for this charitable donation, so that you may claim it on your income taxes.  Please share these notes with members of your group who participated in the Seniors Games.
