The Alzheimer Society of B.C. will be presenting the following workshops in the months of January and February 2018.

Family Caregiver Series
Coquitlam - Tuesdays, January 23 - February 13, from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
New Westminster - Tuesdays, February 6 - 27, from 6 - 8 p.m.

A four-part series for family members who are caring for a person living with dementia. Learn about dementia, practical coping strategies and early planning. The Family Caregiver Series offers insight into understanding dementia, understanding communication and behavior, personal planning and self-care for caregivers.

Shaping the Journey: living with dementia
Tuesdays, January 23 - February 20, from 4 - 6 p.m.
RMSS Maple Ridge Seniors Activity Centre, 12150 - 224th Street, Maple Ridge

A five-session education series for people living with dementia and their care partners to explore the journey ahead in a positive, informative and supportive environment. Participants will learn about dementia, explore strategies for coping with changes and maximizing quality of life, review information on planning for the future and meet others who are going through similar experiences.

Dementia Dialogue: Personhood
Two Wednesdays, January 24 & 31, from 4 - 6 p.m.
RMSS Pitt Meadows Seniors Activity Centre, 19065 119B Avenue, Pitt Meadows

This two part dialogue will explore strategies to assist individuals living with early symptoms of dementia in capturing their personal story, which may include: accomplishment stories, personalized music playlists & hopes for the future.
Over the two days you will create materials to take home with you that can be used in a variety of care settings. This dementia dialogue is intended for both the person with early symptoms of dementia and their care partner.


Pre-registration is required. Workshops are free to attend, donations are appreciated.
